It wasn’t always selling products. Sometimes IBM “sold” ideas. This advertisement" -- part of the company's "Mathematics Serving Man" campaign -- was published "in the interest of mathematics," which IBM regarded as a critical national science. The ad was published in Time, Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report in May 1960.
